Our Story

Some people fall
in love with places.
We fell in love
with moments.

Somewhere between a career in photojournalism
and a tree falling in exactly the right direction,
we found ourselves here.

Before weddings

Before weddings, there was journalism.

Petrică spent fourteen years in news photography, shooting for Mediafax Foto Agency, Adevărul, Forbes, Esquire România. The kind of work where you have one frame to catch what is real, and no possibility of asking anyone to do it again. Cristina built something different but parallel: a career teaching photojournalism at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences in Bucharest, spending years thinking carefully about what a photograph carries, why some images last and others disappear.

We did not arrive at documentary wedding photography through weddings. We arrived through journalism. Through years of training the eye to find the story that is already happening in a room, without interrupting it.

"We did not arrive here through weddings.
We arrived through journalism."

Petrică literally fell out of a tree onto Cristina. That is not a metaphor. That is what happened, in 1999, when they were colleagues. They have been inseparable since.

Sixteen years

The last sixteen years, we have photographed 337 weddings all over Europe, from Greece to Luxembourg and beyond. In baroque chapels and barn receptions. In city halls and field ceremonies. In rain and direct sun and the last light on stone walls.

We have learned one thing above all: the photographs that matter are never the ones you planned.

We moved to France because France called us, the light in the Vienne countryside, the unhurried way a celebration unfolds here, the stone and the silence and the vines. We live in Lencloître now, and we photograph weddings the same way we always have: by disappearing into them.
