Château de Chamerolles, north-east of Orléans at Chilleurs-aux-Bois, is a Renaissance listed monument with famous Renaissance perfume gardens. Weddings are held in the Grande Halle, an eighteenth century hall of wood and glass opening onto the garden's water mirror. One of the Loiret venues we would love to photograph.

The château
Chamerolles is a Renaissance château and monument historique, best known for its recreated Renaissance gardens and a museum of perfume. The Grande Halle, four hundred and thirty square metres of eighteenth century wood and glass, hosts the receptions, opening onto the park water mirror.
Why Chamerolles suits the way we work
Chamerolles gives a documentary photographer two registers at once: a Renaissance monument with formal perfume gardens and a water mirror, and a light-filled glass hall for the reception. The Grande Halle seats two hundred and fifty and opens straight onto the garden, so the day flows between stone, water and glass.
It runs a full English-language service and courts international couples, which is exactly the wedding we came from photojournalism to photograph, big, warm and unposed.

How we would photograph your day
We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.
We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.
Getting there, and what it costs
We are based in Lencloître, in the Vienne, and travel regularly across France and Europe. Château de Chamerolles is in the Loiret; we quote travel there case by case, depending on distance and logistics, always transparently.
