Château de Jalèsnes, near Vernantes in the Anjou, is a Renaissance château from 1610 that runs on full exclusivity and a bilingual team. More than sixty weddings since 2016, most of them British and international, spread over several days. It is exactly the kind of Loire Valley celebration we would love to photograph.

The château
Built in 1610, Renaissance in its proportions, Jalèsnes has been restored into a venue that lives on the British destination market, with an English-speaking coordinator and everything run bilingually. Its chapel, Saint-Louis, carries a stone dome and stained glass from Bordereau of Angers.
It sleeps sixty-five across seventeen suites and opens all year. A hundred kilometres from home, it is a Loire Valley wedding on the Anjou side, and we quote the travel there transparently.
Why Jalèsnes suits the way we work
A multi-day château wedding is a documentary photographer's dream and its hardest test. Days of it, from the first arrivals to the last night, families living in the seventeen suites, everything unscripted. That length is where the real pictures are, and it is where two photographers earn their place.
Jalèsnes has the range: a stone-domed chapel, an old hunting tower in the woods, a dry moat, formal French gardens, lawns for three hundred. It suits a big, warm, international wedding that takes its time.

How we would photograph your day
We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.
We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.

We are based in Lencloître, in the Vienne, and travel regularly across France and Europe. Château de Jalèsnes is in the Maine-et-Loire; we quote travel there case by case, depending on distance and logistics, always transparently.
