Wedding photographer at
Château de la Huberdière

Château de la Huberdière stands at Nazelles-Négron, ten minutes from Amboise, five centuries of tuffeau stone with an ornate balustrade staircase down its façade and a fourteen-hectare park of century-old trees. Ceremonies happen beneath those trees. For a documentary photographer the stone and the shade do half the work. One of the Loire Valley houses we would love to photograph.

From our own weddings. We have not yet photographed here, and we would love to.

The château

Five centuries of tuffeau, the Loire's own honey-coloured stone, Huberdière keeps its period interiors, marble fireplaces and panelled rooms, in a fourteen-hectare park near Amboise. It welcomes international couples in three languages.

Why la Huberdière suits the way we work

The façade and its carved stone staircase are the arrival shot, and the century-old trees give a secular ceremony dappled, forgiving light that flatters everyone. Inside, vaulted stone, patinated woodwork and marble fireplaces hold warm evening light.

It takes thirty to a hundred and fifty, sleeps twenty-one across ten rooms, and runs in English and Italian as well as French, so an international wedding lives on the estate across the weekend.

Where your day photographs

The tuffeau façade and staircase

Sixteenth century honey stone and an ornate balustrade staircase, the arrival and the wide portrait.

The century-old trees

Where the secular ceremony is set, dappled shade and forgiving light under ancient branches.

The vaulted great hall

Stone vaults and patinated woodwork for the dinner, warm under evening light.

The park and pond

Fourteen hectares of grounds with a pond and a pool, the quiet spaces for the couple away from the party.

How we would photograph your day

We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.

We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.
