Wedding photographer at
Château de la Tour d'Oyré
Château de la Tour d'Oyré is one of the venues nearest home we would most like to photograph. A monumental sixteenth century barn, its oak framing dated to 1509, set in open countryside just outside Châtellerault. If you are marrying here, this is what two documentary photographers would bring to your day.
Why la Tour d'Oyré suits the way we work
The barn is the heart of it, five centuries of oak, room for up to three hundred, and the kind of worn wood that holds light beautifully. Around it, a panoramic terrace over the park and forest and a lime tree alley made for a ceremony walk.
Cottages in the hamlet mean your closest people stay for the weekend, and a wedding that runs from Friday to Sunday gives a documentary photographer the mornings, the late nights and the quiet in between, which is where the real pictures live.
Where your day photographs
The monumental barn
A sixteenth century barn, its timbers dated 1509, three hundred and twenty square metres seating up to three hundred.
The lime tree alley
An avenue of centenarian limes, dappled shade for a ceremony or the cocktail hour.
The castle terrace
Overlooking the park and forest, pink hydrangeas, for open-air drinks.
The great park
Pastoral grounds around the barn, long light for the portraits.
The courtyard
Beside the barn, old cottages framing it, where the day gathers.
How we would photograph your day
We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.
We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.
