Château du Loroux, at Vernantes in the Anjou, is a nineteenth century château built inside the ruins of a twelfth century abbey. Nine bedrooms, medieval stone arches, a consecrated chapel, room for around fifteen. It is the most intimate of the Loire Valley houses, and one we would love to photograph.

The château
The nineteenth century château stands on the ruins of a twelfth century abbey, its medieval arches still rising through the grounds. There is a consecrated chapel on site, romantic gardens along the river, sunlit terraces, fifteen hectares of park.
It runs as a fully private, all-inclusive house for the smallest weddings, a hundred kilometres from home in the Anjou, with Tours airport seventy kilometres away. We quote the travel there transparently.
Why le Loroux suits the way we work
The Loroux is unusual: a château that grew up inside a medieval abbey, so the ruins are the setting, not a feature of it. Ceremonies happen under twelfth century stone arches. For a documentary photographer that texture, old stone against candlelight and skin, is a gift.
It is built for the very small wedding, fifteen to twenty people staying in nine rooms, complete exclusivity, several days in one place. That intimacy is where the honest, quiet pictures live, and where two photographers can be everywhere without ever being in the way.

How we would photograph your day
We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.
We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.

We are based in Lencloître, in the Vienne, and travel regularly across France and Europe. Château du Loroux is in the Maine-et-Loire; we quote travel there case by case, depending on distance and logistics, always transparently.
