Wedding photographer at
Château les Muids
Château les Muids sits on the northern edge of the Sologne at La Ferté-Saint-Aubin, half an hour south of Orléans. A four star château in thirty-three hectares of parkland, at ease with international couples. It is one of the Loiret venues we would love to photograph.
From our own weddings. We have not yet photographed here, and we would love to.
The château
The château pairs the charm of an older house with the comfort of a four star hotel, set in mature parkland at the gates of the Sologne, the great forest and lake country south of Orléans that couples cross France to marry in.
Why les Muids suits the way we work
Les Muids has room to breathe: thirty-three hectares of park and old riding paths, which for a documentary photographer means light, distance and places to slip away with a couple for ten minutes. The reception rooms are generous, the largest seating a hundred and fifty, and the estate carries a wedding of two hundred without ever feeling crowded.
It welcomes French and international families alike, and a bilingual day of that size is exactly where working as two earns its place, one of us with the couple, the other watching the room.
Where your day photographs
The parkland and riding paths
Thirty-three hectares of old trees and open ground, long light in the late afternoon and room for the couple to walk away from the party.
The Salle Eugénie
The largest reception room, up to a hundred and fifty seated with a dance floor. We light it for the faces once the evening turns.
The château façade
The classic house behind an arrival or a wide portrait, calm and symmetrical.
The grounds for the ceremony
Open lawn under the trees for an outdoor exchange of vows before the reception opens up.
How we would photograph your day
We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.
We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.
