Wedding photographer at
Domaine de Scarlett

Le Domaine de Scarlett sits just over the Loir-et-Cher border at Saint-Laurent-Nouan, about thirty minutes from Orléans at the gates of the Sologne. A bohemian chic domaine of exposed stone, with an outdoor ceremony facing open wheat fields. One of the venues near Orléans we would love to photograph.

From our own weddings. We have not yet photographed here, and we would love to.

The château

A three hectare domaine at the edge of the Sologne, restored in a bohemian chic spirit: an exposed stone hall with a rose wall and a starry ceiling, a two hundred square metre pavilion bar, gîtes on the grounds and open fields for the ceremony.

Why Scarlett suits the way we work

Scarlett is the informal end of the spectrum, and documentary photography loves informal: a two hundred square metre reception hall of exposed stone under a starry ceiling, a bar pavilion, and a ceremony set out in the open facing the wheat. Nothing here is stiff.

Three hectares, four gîtes sleeping around twenty, up to a hundred and thirty at the table. It suits a couple who want a relaxed country wedding rather than a grand château, and it is easy driving from Orléans.

Where your day photographs

The exposed stone hall

Two hundred square metres, a rose wall and a starry ceiling, up to a hundred and thirty seated, warm and informal at night.

The ceremony facing the fields

Set out in the open toward the wheat, big sky and low evening light.

The pavilion bar

Two hundred square metres for the drinks and the dancing, easy and relaxed.

The gîtes and grounds

Where the party stays and gathers, the informal hours we photograph best.

How we would photograph your day

We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.

We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.
