Domaine des Bidaudières
Domaine des Bidaudières is an eighteenth century estate restored in the Vouvray vineyards, between Amboise and Tours. Its signature is light and stone: a hall under a glass roof that fills with daylight, and authentic troglodyte rooms cut into the tufa. For a documentary photographer that contrast, bright glass and dim cave, is a gift. One of the Loire Valley houses we would love to photograph.

The château
An eighteenth century property restored from 1996, Bidaudières sits in the Vouvray appellation with guest rooms on site and grounds running down through the vines. It welcomes French and international couples alike, with English and Spanish versions of everything.
Why les Bidaudières suits the way we work
The glass-roofed hall is a daytime photographer's room, flooded with soft even light through the verrière, no flash needed for the speeches and the first courses. Step into the troglodyte rooms and the register flips to warm, low, candlelit stone.
The park and pool give open air for the cocktail, and the estate takes up to two hundred, split across rooms as the day moves. It suits a couple who want the Vouvray vines without the stiffness of a formal château.

How we would photograph your day
We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging the facade, no asking anyone to do it again.
We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of the venue and a record of your day.
Getting there, and what it costs
les Bidaudières is about an hour away, in the Vouvray vineyards. We live in Lencloître, in the Vienne, and travel to weddings in the Vienne and the Loire Valley is included in our packages, with no surcharge.
Our packages start at 3,190 €, both photographers for the full day, all edited images included.
