We live in Lencloître, in the Vienne, 75 kilometres from Saumur. The Saumurois offers some of the most remarkable spaces for a wedding in the Loire Valley: a royal UNESCO abbey, Renaissance châteaux, vine estates on the river. Travel to Saumur is included in our packages.
Over sixteen years, we have documented 337 weddings across Europe. Our approach has not changed: be invisible, observe, capture what happens without interrupting it. The Saumur area gives us venues with depth, history and the kind of light that makes the day look like it felt.
Venues we know
Abbaye de Fontevraud
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, a royal abbey founded in 1101, where Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard the Lionheart are buried. Fontevraud hosts events within its medieval cloisters and chapter house. There is no other wedding venue in the Loire Valley with this depth of history. The quality of silence here is unlike anywhere else.
Château de Brézé
A Renaissance château 12 kilometres south of Saumur, built over the deepest dry moat in France. The château hosts weddings up to 250 guests and has a network of underground galleries carved into the tuffeau rock beneath the estate. A venue of unusual architectural character.
Saumur-Champigny vineyards
The Saumur-Champigny appellation produces some of the Loire's most respected reds from Cabernet Franc vines on the tuffeau plateau. The vineyard landscape, open and light, with the Loire visible in the distance, works particularly well for intimate ceremonies and elopements at the end of the afternoon.
