We live in Lencloître, in the Vienne, 70 kilometres from Azay-le-Rideau. The Indre valley runs between our base and Azay through the forest, and the quality of light here, reflected off the river and diffused through the trees, is unlike anywhere else in the Loire.
Over sixteen years, we have documented 337 weddings across Europe. In the Touraine, we work at Château de l'Islette, Château de Champchevrier, and other estate properties. Our approach stays the same wherever we are: invisible, attentive, no direction.

Château de l'Islette, Azay-le-Rideau
Two kilometres from Azay, this is where Rodin came to sculpt and Camille Claudel spent her summers. That history lives in the walls. L'Islette is intimate, human, without the ostentation of the larger Loire châteaux. For couples who want a day that runs deep rather than one that looks spectacular.
Château de Champchevrier, Cléré-les-Pins
Isolated in the forest between Tours and Angers, Champchevrier has the quality of silence that lets a day unfold at its own pace. The park, the moat, the seventeenth-century interiors: a place that resists being rushed, which suits our way of working.
The Indre valley
The river between Azay and our base in the Vienne is one of the quietest stretches of water in the region. The reflected light off the Indre extends the usable light for photography well past sunset. For elopements and portrait sessions on the riverbanks, the timing from early afternoon to dusk is remarkable.

Is Château d'Azay-le-Rideau available for private weddings?
The château is a national monument managed by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and is not generally available for private receptions. The Azay area has other excellent venues: Château de l'Islette, two kilometres from Azay, is one of our favourite places to photograph in the Loire Valley, and is available for private weddings.

What makes the Azay-le-Rideau area good for photography?
The Indre river at Azay produces some of the most even reflected light in the Loire Valley: the water mirrors the sky and diffuses the direct sun, which extends the golden hour significantly. The scale here is smaller and more intimate than the grand châteaux of the Saumurois. For couples who want a day that feels real rather than monumental, this corner of Touraine is difficult to match.
