in Amboise
Amboise, the royal town on the Loire between Tours and Blois, is one of the flagship wedding destinations of the whole valley, its château and Leonardo's Clos Lucé drawing couples from across the world. Around it the tufa châteaux run thick, from the Michelin-starred orangery of Château de Pray to the Italian gardens of Château Gaillard. A zone we would love to photograph.
For a photographer Amboise is river light and tufa stone: terraces over the Loire, cave-rooms carved into the cliff, gardens that hold the low sun. The venues here run in English as much as French, built for the international couples the town attracts.
Just across at Nazelles-Négron, minutes away, Château de la Huberdière sets its ceremony under century-old trees. The whole cluster is about an hour from home, in the Loire Valley we cover with travel included.

How we work
We came to weddings from photojournalism. We observe, we anticipate, we capture what happens without interrupting it. No posing, no staging, no asking anyone to do it again.
We always work as two. While one of us is at the ceremony, the other is watching the faces. That second pair of eyes is the difference between a record of a place and a record of your day.
